Geling Yan is a Chinese-American author and screenwriter, known for her collaborations with major Chinese directors such as Zhang Yimou, Chen Kaige, and Feng Xiaogang. Since 2022, Yan has been blacklisted in China following her criticism of Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
