Privacy Policy

The short version
This site collects zero personally identifiable information. No accounts, no tracking cookies, no fingerprinting. Ads and affiliate links are present to cover hosting costs, but that's entirely on the third parties involved — I don't see or sell your data. I built this for people who love good media, not to harvest their browsing habits.
Analytics
Follow The Credits uses a custom-built, open-source analytics API — v01dworks Analytics — to understand basic site usage, such as which pages are visited and which media types are most popular.
This system is designed from the ground up to collect no PII. It does not store IP addresses, does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not track you across sessions or sites. The source code is public — you can audit exactly what is and isn't collected.
The data stays with me and is used solely to understand how the site is being used so I can improve it. It is never sold, shared, or passed to advertisers.
Advertising
Follow The Credits displays advertisements to cover the cost of hosting and ongoing development. Ads are served by third-party networks (currently Google AdSense). These networks may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads relevant to your interests based on your browsing activity across other sites.
I have no control over what data ad networks collect or how they use it. Their collection is governed by their own privacy policies:
Ads are a necessary evil to keep the lights on. I've kept them as unobtrusive as possible and will never place them in ways that actively harm the reading experience. If you run an ad blocker, I get it — no hard feelings.
Affiliate Links
Some media pages may include affiliate links — clearly marked "Get it" buttons that link to retailers. If you purchase something through one of these links, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
Affiliate links never influence which media appears on the site or how it is ranked. Content is pulled entirely from public data sources (Wikidata, TVMaze, Open Library, IGDB) without any paid placement.
Like the ads, these exist purely to make it financially sustainable to keep the site running. I disclose them in full compliance with FTC guidelines.
