Charming, malicious author Patrick Vaughan is killed in what is obviously intended to be a hit-and-run accident, but Inspector Rudd is not sure that it isn't murder. The lies and suspicion that Vaughan has caused during his lifetime complicate things after his death for all those who knew him--and who might have killed him.
