Flugschriften des späteren 16. Jahrhunderts
No ratings yet
Microfiches of pamphlets in German or Latin originally published 1531-1600. The pamphlets in this collection are based on a research project undertaken by a group of scholars of the Sonderforschungsbereich "Spatmittelalter und Reformation" at the University of Tubingen. They include complete texts of most pamphlets published during the 16th century in the German-speaking areas of Europe. The collection is divided into two parts (earlier and later 16th century). Those of the later period deal with a broad spectrum of themes: the political and military conflicts in Europe (the Turkish wars, the revolt of the Netherlands, the persecution of French Protestantism, etc.); the status of Calvinists and Zwinglians in the Holy Roman Empire; the Council of Trent; the Anabaptist kingdom of Munster; the Schmakladic War and the Interim; propaganda against the papacy and the Jesuits; intra-Protestant theological quarrels; building of confessional networks; witchhunting.
