Afghani scholar, Najib Ullah, who taught, among other places at Princeton, gives a treasury of Persian, Arabic, and Turkish literature with many fresh translations. Professor Ullah give some glimpses into pre-Islamic Middle Eastern literature. He doesn't go into ancient Mesopotamian literature.
