Jack Renoir has a big secret: as a young boy he had witnessed his uncle's brutal murder on his Californian apple farm. Now he's a man who makes his living discovering other people's secrets while making sure he keeps his own. But when a beautiful young Englishwoman walks into Jack's life he doesn't realize she is going to turn his carefully constructed world completely upside down.
