The Big Stick Chronicle runs to 125,000 words The background to this story is London and Paris, Ireland and the Basque country. A powerful new weapon is being carried in the testing of a new secret American warplane taking off from an aircraft carrier in the North Atlantic. A crazy mishap sends it crashing into a haystack near Pamplona in the Basque country. The missing American weapon unleashes deadly forces. The Americans want their property back, but for political reasons they do not want any knowledge of the incident leaking out. The CIA reactivates Estrada, a ruthless killer who had been put out to grass, in a desperate attempt to recover the thing. Failing that, he is to cover all traces of it and its origins in the USA.In the late 1980s and early 1990s the North of Ireland is a place of hatred and death. Liam McCann aims make the warring factions come to terms with each other. He wants to force the British government in Westminster to withdraw its forces and leave the Irish to sort out their problems for themselves. This chronicle records McCann’s attempt to acquire his “big stick” and transfer it to the North of Ireland. Once there he will have the means at his disposal to get rid of the British out of his country.
