When Peep O'Day shoots his way out of a fracas in the Jumbo Saloon to save his reckless brother Tommy from a bad jam, he gets himself into an even bigger jam. Peep is a square-shooter and Tommy is a heel, yet Peep is forced by a curious turn of fate to go on the outlaw trail--out of a job, suspected of murder, misunderstood by the girl he loves, and hated by his former friends. The long trail back from his living hell is tense and trickey and dangerous--but Peep rides it hard and surely in company with another outlaw, his magnificent horse, Torpedo.
