A Texas Ranger by profession and at heart, Jake Cameron scoffs at his temporary assignment as marshal of Liberty Flats. The only ray of light in his seemingly pointless job is the stunning Sunny Fannin -- maybe this job won't be too bad? Jake, drawn ever closer to Sunny as she takes on the responsibility of revolutionizing the town, devotes his time to protecting her from the attacks of an unseen assailant. More than grateful for his protection, Sunny fears the day Jake is reassigned more than she fears her would-be assassin.
