Why Aren't They Screaming?

No ratings yet

Loretta Lawson is feeling a little bit under the weather with what her doctor diagnosed as grandular fever. A friend of a friend offers the use of her cottage located in the country outside of Oxford, which will be a welcome break from academic life. She arrives to find a house in chaos. Her hostess is the famous children's writer and illustrator, Clara Wolstonecroft, who is currently out demonstrating against an adjacent American air base. She also hasn't vacated the premises and is expecting dinner guests in two hours. Loretta should be resting, but is drawn into Clara's wild and stimulating world. Along with the obscene letters and phone calls, comes murder.
