Aokelan is a poetic, observational documentary exploring the lives, cultures, and everyday experiences of Auckland’s Asian immigrant communities. Through intimate portraits and surreal perspectives of place, the film reflects on immigration, belonging, and what it means to live between worlds. The film aims to offer a new perspective on a community that is an integral part of New Zealand’s cultural fabric yet underrepresented.
