Le fil cassé
No ratings yet
A vibrant declaration of love from a son to his mother, a poetic meditation on the passage of time, *Le Fil cassé* is an exploration of a family saga. Michel Langlois (Lettre à mon père, Cap Tourmente) had no children. He broke the thread connecting the generations. By reconstructing his family tree, the filmmaker brings to life—spanning Quebec and France, the past and the present, dreams and reality—a lineage of loved ones—particularly men—to whom he owes a great deal. Drawing on archival documents, reenacted scenes, and documentary footage, he reconnects in his own way what had been severed. Through this deeply sensitive inner journey, the filmmaker delivers a mature work that allows him to restore meaning to his own existential quest and to strengthen his sense of belonging to the human community.
