The events unfold in August 1943. Work is in full swing in the rear of Alma-Ata: previously evacuated factories are producing weapons: mines, bombs, torpedoes, and flamethrowers. But in the city's dark alleys, gangs, saboteurs, and agents of the Third Reich operate, transforming Alma-Ata into the criminal capital of the USSR.The series' heroes join the fight against banditry. A counterintelligence officer and a captain are sent from Moscow to assist their Kazakh colleagues. They must spend sleepless nights to prevent a series of sabotage operations and find a German spy.The series is not only about the fight against banditry, but also about the hospitality of the Kazakh people, who warmly welcomed the evacuees and shared their last bread with them.
