Stephanie Wells is the newly appointed editor-in-chief of 'Communique'. Central to the plot is the rivalry between Stephanie and Allen's stepdaughter Carrie Fairchild, a scheming Generation-X bitch who does her best to seduce Stephanie's writer husband Mark Merrill.
