The year is 2001. Zhenya returns to his native provincial town after 7 years of contract service. Upon arrival, the guy discovers that his ex-girlfriend has become a drug addict, like most of the youth of this town. A mother and stepfather, a veteran of the Afghan war, are fighting a desperate battle for a sawmill that bandits are trying to capture.
