Set in Old Shanghai, it tells the story of a former out of date movie star, Hu Xiaodie who gets involved in a confusing murder case. In order to prove her innocence, she joins hands with her assistant, Hua Xiaoqing, a young independent woman, who had returned from abroad to her family's downfall, to find out the truth. In order to clear the suspicions on them, they begin to learn the knowledge of investigation and reasoning skills, and eventually grow to become the nemesis of crime, with the help of the Central Police Station.
