A modest employee of the research institute, Oleg Tyapin, is unexpectedly elected to the Duma of the new convocation. He doesn't want to be a deputy at all, but duty is duty - Tyapin leaves provincial Glebov for Moscow to take on new responsibilities. The hero will go through all the stages of development and formation of himself as a new person, fall in love, and most importantly, experience a lot of comical situations.
