Because of her cuckoo mother, who is infatuated with another man, young Katya ends up on the street and is forced to take care of herself. Following her dream, she enters an aviation technical school to study to become a flight attendant, but her plans are ruined by a meeting with Alexei, from whom she became pregnant. Having given birth to a girl, she was left absolutely alone without help or support.
