Murder Down Under: Byron Bay Murders

No ratings yet

The two-part true crime special will explore a haunting pattern of disappearances of young women aged 14 to 20 between Newcastle and Byron Bay that have remained unsolved for decades, with not a single arrest made. A passionate Member of Parliament, Jeremy Buckingham, leads the investigation, driven by personal tragedy. Following his son's devastating suicide, Jeremy stumbled upon the alarming cluster of unsolved missing persons cases and his grief propelled him to bring the issue to Parliament to demand answers in the hope of giving these women a voice and their families closure. Former Detective Sergeant Damian Loone, criminal psychologist Tim Watson Munro and criminologist Xanthe Mallett will examine the evidence of these cases and investigate all the relevant material in an effort to break new ground.
