Odissea is an eight-part TV miniseries television drama co-produced and broadcast by RAI in 1968, based on Homer's poem of the same name. It was directed by Franco Rossi, together with Piero Schivazappa and Mario Bava. It was one of the most successful RAI screenplays, due to the level of spectacularity higher than that of previous television productions. Excellent cast, among which Bekim Fehmiu in the role of Ulysses and Irene Papas in the role of Penelope stand out. Each episode was preceded by an introduction in which the poet Giuseppe Ungaretti read some lines of the poem.
