In a small provincial town Tikhodonsk a former patient of mental hospital Sergey Lapin lives and he seems to be a quiet, modest man, although local people know that this weird man who lives together with a market seller, in fact is not that simple. Sergey is strong and emotional, and his anger can't be controlled by his consciousness. His life becomes different after he was run over by a head of technical support of the bank. Then bank officers realize that they can use his knowledge of new security systems, so they hire him. He gets his first salary and buys some new clothing - Sergey changes so amazingly. Smart chief of bank's security tests Sergey to find out other hidden resources of this person. Still, the man does not remember anything that could shed some light to his mystic past. But there are those who know about the danger this person can bring. They open the hunting season on Lapin, who decides to solve the mystery and get back his forgotten self.
