After years of marriage, young artist Lu Ming and his wife Xu Xin begin to grow emotionally distant, as their once-strong bond starts to crack. In a severe car accident, Xu Xin is critically injured and falls into a prolonged coma at the hospital. At home, Lu Ming discovers a stream-of-consciousness novel written by Xu Xin.
