In the small town of Ringaryd in Småland, three young people find a chest with hidden letters. The letters tell of a 3,000-year-old statue that has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. It turns out that a curse rests on the statue and strange things start to happen when the past catches up with them. The series is based on the beloved classic by Maria Gripe and Kay Pollak.
