The period drama, Treflan, is based on three books by Daniel Owen, the novelist and tailor from Yr Wyddgrug, namely Y Treflan, Rhys Lewis and Enoc Huws. Set in the Victorian era the series follows the story of popular characters from the novels who live in a small town typical of Daniel Owen's hometown in Yr Wydgrug in the 19th century. During this period religion, the industrial revolution and the agricultural industry played a prominent role in people's lives.
