Each of the film's three main characters has a rather unsuccessful romantic history behind them. Now, it is as if Fate has granted them a second chance. Makovtsov, a divorced executive, decides to marry the young nanny of his 14-year-old daughter, Vika—unaware that the nanny has a boyfriend of her own and specific designs on the executive's assets. At 37, Makovtsov's ex-wife, Katya, had essentially given up on her love life, yet she finds herself falling hard for 25-year-old Igor and enduring a barrage of negativity from friends and family alike. As for Igor, his attempt to break off a stale relationship with his girlfriend, Inna—who is his own age—lands him in the hospital with a gunshot wound. Playing significant roles in the unfolding drama are Vika—a savvy teenager who meddles in adult affairs with typical adolescent impulsiveness—and Igor's divorced parents, who are grappling with plenty of romantic complications of their own.
