Ilya Khrzhanovsky
Ilya Andreyevich Khrzhanovsky is a Russian-born film director, film producer and art director, and a member of the European Film Academy. His debut feature 4 (2004) won the Tiger Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. He is best known for the DAU project, a multidisciplinary undertaking at the intersection of cinema, art and anthropology that has yielded 14 feature films, three TV series and large-scale immersive installations; DAU premiered in 2019 in Paris at the Théâtre du Châtelet, Théâtre de la Ville and Centre Pompidou, and its films were selected for the Berlinale and the European Film Awards. From 2020 to 2023 he served as Artistic Director of the Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial Center in Kyiv.
