Christabel hadn't gone out to New Zealand to stay, but to sort out the domestic problems her selfish half-sister Lisa had left behind. But in a very short time she knew that this was her land, the place she wanted to stay in for ever; a 'daughter of the misty gorges' as the local expression described someone who really belonged.
