There had been no future in loving her boss, Jocelyn knew; he was married, they must both put his wife first — so that was that. So Jocelyn did the best she could, and went off for a holiday in New Zealand's beautiful Fiordland to try and bury the sadness. It was quite by chance that she found herself looking after two young orphaned children, and housekeeping for their uncle, Magnus Isbister — but perhaps, she thought hopefully, the job would help to compensate for the home and family life that would now never be hers.
